Inventory Settings
Alpaca’s inventory controls help ensure you only offer pickup, delivery, or shipping when products are actually available.
Key Settings
- Show options if products are out of stock:
Show or hide fulfillment methods if items are unavailable at a location. - Require inventory at location:
Only show locations/rates if the products are physically stocked there. - Automatically move inventory:
After an order, Alpaca can automatically update inventory in Shopify to reflect fulfillment location. - Hide irrelevant options:
Hide delivery rates if pickup is selected, and vice versa, to keep checkout clean.
Where to Adjust
- Go to Settings → Orders & Checkout in Alpaca.
- Update inventory behavior, reservation expiration, and more.
Best Practices
- Enable “require inventory at location” for strict inventory tracking.
- Use “automatically move inventory” unless your store manages inventory elsewhere.
