Setting Up Delivery Zones (Distance & Postal Codes)
Define exactly where you offer local delivery using Alpaca’s flexible zone options.
1. Distance-Based Zones
- Go to Settings → Delivery in the Alpaca dashboard.
- Choose your location and click Add Delivery Rate.
- Set the minimum and maximum delivery distance for this rate (e.g., 0–5 miles, 5–10 miles).
- Optionally set a price for each distance tier.
2. Postal Code-Based Zones
- In the rate setup, you can specify allowed postal codes (ZIP/postcodes).
- Enter codes as a list (e.g., 90210, 90211) or a range (e.g., 10000–10100).
- Use asterisks for wildcard matches (e.g., 902* covers 90200–90299).
- Exclude codes by prefixing with an exclamation mark (e.g., !90210).
3. Multiple Zones Per Location
- Create as many distance or postal code rates as you need.
- Customers will only see delivery options for zones they’re eligible for.
Tips
- You can have different rates for each location.
- Use zones to offer premium delivery (e.g., express vs. standard).
