Alpaca’s inventory controls help ensure you only offer pickup, delivery, or shipping when products are actually available.
Key Settings
Show options if products are out of stock:
Show or hide fulfillment methods if items are unavailable at a location.Require inventory at location:
Only show locations/rates if the products are physically stocked there.Automatically move inventory:
After an order, Alpaca can automatically update inventory in Shopify to reflect fulfillment location.Hide irrelevant options:
Hide delivery rates if pickup is selected, and vice versa, to keep checkout clean.
Where to Adjust
Go to Settings → Orders & Checkout in Alpaca.
Update inventory behavior, reservation expiration, and more.
Best Practices
Enable “require inventory at location” for strict inventory tracking.
Use “automatically move inventory” unless your store manages inventory elsewhere.
